We are seeking a

Postdoctoral Researcher/Junior Group Leader (PDF)

Plant Molecular Cell Biology; m, f, d

to characterize molecular mechanisms underlying recently identified functions of Arabidopsis AtGBL3, a nuclear enve-lope-associated dynamin-related large GTPase, in nuclear envelope formation, global transcriptional repression and root development (Reimann et al. 2023-Nat Plants 9-766; https://doi.org/10.1038/s41477-023-01400-5). The success-ful candidate is expected to advance this project working closely together with and supervising a DFG (German Research Foundation)-funded PhD student. Her/his efforts to secure additional funding and to attain Junior Group Leader status will be actively encouraged and supported.

Key tasks:
• conduct research to characterize molecular functions of the large GTPase AtGBPL3
• supervise a DFG-funded PhD student working on this project
• further develop this project and attract additional funding
• establish and lead a junior research team
• contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level

Important qualifications:
• PhD in Biology or a related field
• strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics & microscopy
• enthusiastic and innovative researcher/teacher
